I <3 Dengue Fever
I am in love with the band Dengue Fever. They got it all going for the them. Intelligible lyrics, a beautiful lead singer, an international mystic. For me a song is a dream world (or a nightmare). Who wants to have the dream ruined by lyrics that contradict your outlook on life. Plus I know in my dreams I am dating a beautiful Asian woman and I am a world traveler. So Dengue Fever is where its at. They create this psychedelic dream world where anything is possible. See for yourself...
Seeing Hands
Tiger Phone Card
One Thousand Tears Of A Tarantula
Oh and I love the song Loat in Laos but I couldn't find a good version of the song to post.

Wow it has been a while.
Things have been crazy lately with school so I haven't posted in a while but I have been listening to a lot of cool music. So I will try to post about a few cool bands and stuff. I have really been into Dengue Fever who I will post about next. Plus really like the Bird and the Bee. Plus the country senseibility of Cat Power has really suited my fancy. Last Monday I went to go see the British band The Duke Spirit. The also have a country sound, Leila Betts ( the very attractive lead singer) plays a mean harmonica, though she seemed a little too self conscious when she first came on stage but once she stated sweating she started to relax. Well I need to get started on my Dengue Fever post and I will be posting a lot more soon.

Wilco
This is something I wrote January 3rd: Though it has kind of been still evolving
I just want to let every one I am officially an fan of Wilco. It has been a long time in the coming. They probably have suffered from the exact opposite fate of NIN. I probably have put off liking them a little too long since I heard of them in 2001 or 2002 when Yankee Hotel Foxtort came out or at least when it was being shared a lot. They where too mellow for me. Though along with the New Year has come a taste for more mellow slightly emo music indie music. So I can now accept Wilco.

Johhny Cash-The Sea of Heartbreak
Usually when a song is about heartbreak it has a longing melody and wraps around you stoking your depression lovingly. And while the lyrics of the Don Gibson song Sea of Heartbreak are sorrowful and exude a great longing. The way Johnny Cash does the song is really up beat. I don't feel depressed at all after listening to it. That Johnny Cash was a great musician.
Wow it looks like two Johnny Cash Post in a row.

Walk The Line
I love Johnny Cash and when I first heard the guy singing this I didn't like the song but hearing as a duet really does something for me. I first saw the video on the Blog Never Ever Shake a Kakie .
Here is Johnny singing it...

My Thoughts on The Jeff Buckley Tribute Show I went to
I am hanging out at the Jeff Buckley tribute show at the Key Club. Jeff Buckley's mom was tonights special guest she said the performers "are going to shoot the moon." There was some speculation by some ladies from New Jersey that Bon Jovi was going to be the special guest because Jon Bon Jovi had spoken about Jeff at a recent concert.
The lighting at the show seems very weird. The performers seemed very washed out. There is a little screen above the bar seems more real than watching the show live. The performers where pretty good though they mainly focused on doing their best Jeff Buckley impersinations. Except for 3 of the performers. One was a male female duet where the played the guitar with a bow. Another stand out was a guy playing with a steel guitar. Then final stand out of the evening was my friend Mark Macminn. Who play guitar and brought a nice spin to the performance by playing harmonica.
